Bloodbound

Yet another Thunderfrost, with fewer warnings. Only mild ones for minor consensual bloodshed, NOT self-harm, and brief mention of their "significant brothers" relationship. Inspired by Norse mythology. 290 words.

"Loki, in the name of the Allfather, what are you doing?!" That devlish grin on Loki's face told Thor he might regret asking. But Loki had slashed his palm with one of his throwing daggers so that blood pooled against the pale skin. It was cause for concern.

"Come, sit, cut your own hand in this manner and press it to mine." Loki held the dagger out handle first, a non-threatening offer.

Thor still hesitated and puzzled. "Whatever for?"

The grin softened so it was almost coy. "We have exchanged other fluids--" His green eyes flashed giving Thor the need to adjust himself, "--So why not meld our blood to seal our bond?"

It seemed logical, and Loki knew more about magic anyway. Thor consented with a slow nod and sat, taking the dagger and dragging it across his own hand with a hiss.

Loki chuckled at the reaction, which earned him a reproving look. He kept his smile. "I apologize, brother. I had not expected it to pain you that way."

Thor couldn't help his own lips turning up. "So this is straightforward, yes? Press these wounds together for...how long?"

"A few moments should be sufficient. Give me your hand, my love."

The two men clasped hands, and at the moment of contact, thunder cracked across the Asgardian sky and an ice-riddled wind whipped over the fields. Loki looked up in evaluation.

"It seems we are successful." He smiled wider and lowered his head to again face Thor, but his expression turned curious.

"What is it? --Oh..." Thor fell silent, seeing his vapored breath rise in front of him. Looking down at their still joined hands, he watched the deep blue color spread up his arm.
